Autumn- the season of Clearing

In Chinese Medicine (TCM) autumn is the dance between summer  & winter. It’s a time to begin turning inward to learn more about ourselves after the full bounty of summer. Energetically it is the season of “letting go “ connected to the Large Intestine meridian.  This is where we can store physical & emotional junk that can weigh us down. Autumn returns us to our essence moves along what no longer serves to reveal what is most important to us.

The opposing/complimentary organ in Autumn is the Lung meridian- if this meridian is blocked we are unable to see past the letting go of the Colon to take in new inspiration (the breath) Building life force between the two is vital if we are to go into the Winter with a strong immunity.

This is an ideal time to do your yearly (preferably twice yearly) parasite cleanse- think of it as your insurance policy.  Due to pesticides, fungicides, hormones etc in our food chain, its most likely our inner ecology is disrupted which means not enough good bacteria- overgrowth bad bacteria, yeast & fungus (yes even worms) can be nesting throughout our digestive system living off our good nutrition.

Here are my self- care practices for autumn season:

  •  Taking time each day to consciously breathe, either on the mat at yoga or just lying in bed. Feeling the expansion of my lungs & belly on inspiration & exhaling out the old stuff.
  • Naomi & I are both gearing up for our first Gall Bladder flush together soon. (In preparation we will be doing a parasite cleanse together along with Colonics and some e juicing. Switching to root veggies (carrots, sweet potato,  along with some greens & spirulina. Eating more soups & warm veggie dishes too.
  • Passive sweating via FAR sauna therapy- mindfully keeping up hydration. It’s easy for me to forget about drinking water when it’s not so hot.I head to Bali this weekend for the next Retreat and leave you all in the best hands of Deb & Naomi until I return at the end of March .
